July, 2002. I designed 2 wine lables for Bill Peck, a small-scale vintner based near Santa Cruz, California. He wanted two distinct labels. The white, shown above, was to feature native California flora and/or fauna and be called "Chaparral Cellars." I used a combination of Freehand, water colors, and Photoshop to create this design. The red, shown here, was to feature a red-headed woodpecker and be called "Peckerhead Red." This design was created entirely in Freehand. Each label required space for Mr. Peck to write in the specific type and year of the wine.
